Merged Jasper Johns Red, Yellow, Blue with my Book Burning artwork. Urban decline
I merged an image of urban decay of Detroit with a digitally superimposed image of an object artwork I made that actually rolled and was titled handicapped painting.
Merged object artwork title cemetery featuring empty paint tubes with a photo of stacked up old rusty cars. Deindustrialization of the 1980s.
Title: 13 Industrial Stages of the Cross. Merged artwork of an object artwork (titled sandbox) featuring a mangled running board for a VW bug with an image of a decaying mill town. De-industrialization
I merged an image of an object artwork featuring rusted spark plugs dangling from car hoses with a photo of a Bruce Springsteen album. His songs were themed in the de-industrialization of the 1970s and 1980s. In the song Jungleland he wrote “the poets down here write nothing at all they just stand back and let it all be.” He was saying he was the only artist focused on the impact of mills and plants closings on the workers. The object artwork I merged had only a few words visible in the books covered with paint. They were “of my colleagues he glanced, I am afraid.” Echoing Bruce’s sentiments.
De-industrialization theme. The impact of sudden powerful techno-economic thunderstorm on a mill town in the 1980s.
